Thank you. I didn't have this problem until this week. When I click Save as the dialogue box opens but goes into 'not responding' mode and the directory structure and libraries are blanked out as is most of the text that should be in the dialogue box.
If I click on Save not save as similar, except the directory and libraries structure is visible. Fref add-ons has no impact. Working in safe mode allows me to save but that's not microsoft office professional plus 2013 not responding free.

The problem occurs erratically. Today it is happening every second or third new file. I have a reproduceable issue whereby 'save as' causes Word to hang. As soon as save a document with a new file name in any location mapped drives, desktop, etc. The document saves just fine. This behavior is the same whether or not I actually make any changes. I've also converted the documents to remove 'compatibility mode' but the problem persists. The symptom does NOT exist when I use the 'save' function - only 'save as' and change the title.
Also, the symptom does NOT exist when I create a new professioanl in word. The documents in question were originally created multiple versions ago.
I suspect there's something weird embedded in the template, fonts, etc. I have several co-workers with the same issue - anyone else come across this? This thread is locked.
